Master’s Thesis Survey: I’d Love Your Input!

I’m working on a master’s thesis, and I could use your help!

The project explores how people reflect on and integrate meaningful life experiences. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time—both professionally and personally. I have a Master’s in Counseling and have spent most of my career as a school counselor (when I’m not off on a long backpacking trip), and I’m now finishing up a second degree to become a licensed therapist (LMFT/LPCC).

This topic is deeply personal to me. Some of the most meaningful, disorienting, and transformational moments in my life have included the death of my mom when I was a teenager, saying goodbye to pets I loved, traveling, moving, navigating life transitions, and returning from big thru-hikes feeling more lost than when I started. Some of these experiences were heart-wrenching, some confusing, some awe-inspiring—but they all felt unfinished somehow, like they didn’t quite have a place in my everyday life. I often struggled to connect with others about them. These moments have shaped me in ways I’m still trying to understand, and I’m curious how others move through change too.

The survey is anonymous, takes about 10–15 minutes, and you can skip any questions that don’t feel relevant. Your input will help me better understand how people process meaningful experiences and make sense of who they are afterward.

If you're open to sharing, I’d be truly grateful. Here’s the link: Masters Thesis Survey
